Cy Gist Press is a micropress founded by Mark Lamoureux focusing on ekphrasis (work which is responding to visual art). The press is fundamentally non-capitalist in nature--volumes are not for "sale," but instead interested parties may trade other chapbooks, magazines, labor etc. in order to obtain one of the titles. I do accept ordinary monetary donations for titles through PayPal (an academic distinction, I realize.)

If you are interested in donating materials, Cy Gist can always use the following:

Cy Gist will be publishing chapbook anthologies and chapbooks by individual poets. The press does not accept unsolicited submissions outside of the current Call For Submissions. If you have something you think will interest the press, please query first.
The name "Cy Gist" comes from Basil Bunting's poem "Villon" (“Cy Gist” was an epithet written on old French gravestones, analogous to "Here Lies"):

"Then he saw his ghosts glitter with golden hands,
the Emperor sliding up and up from his tomb
alongside Charles. These things are not obliterate.
White gobs spitten for mockery;
and I too shall have CY GIST written over me."
